How to make an appointment
Please call our surgery to make an appointment or use the online patient portal to do this, by going to www.greatbridgehealth.nhs.uk.
The receptionists may ask the nature of your condition in order to assess the degree of urgency and help you to obtain the earliest appointment. All information given is treated with total confidentiality. Urgent cases are seen on the day.
If you are asked to attend the surgery for an appointment you will be presented with a fluid resistant surgical mask to replace any fabric mask you have for the duration of your stay in the building. You must wear a mask to enter.
If you need to see a doctor, we have pre-bookable appointments available in advance. If you require an urgent appointment, please call the surgery at 8am on the day for availability. Appointments with practice nurses and healthcare assistants are all pre-bookable.
Please say immediately if your call is an emergency.
Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. (We can give you a longer appointment if necessary.) If you have more than one issue to discuss please let our receptionist know when you book your appointment.
Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. He or she will ring you at an agreed time on the telephone number you have given.
If you need an interpreter, please inform us 48 hours in advance so we can arrange a longer appointment and interpreting services if necessary.
How you can help us:
- Be on time for your appointment.
- It is really important you tell us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your appointment.
- If you are housebound and require a home visit call before 10am.
- We do not take requests for repeat prescriptions over the phone.
- Ring for test results after 2pm.
Extended access hours
Patients will be able to book in advance to see a GP by calling our receptionists during normal surgery hours to make an appointment. The appointment could be at our other site, Lyndon Health Centre, and is subject to availability.
Extended hours surgery times:
Monday to Friday: 6.30-8pm.
Saturday and Sunday: 12-1.30pm.
